161 Children and Adult Dental Emergencies 4 Units

$48.00

This course will go over the dental emergencies that occurs in our practice. It will include children as well as adult emergencies. How do you handle a one-year-old child that has baby bottle decay on his anterior deciduous teeth? This course will go into that procedure. We will also go into how to handle an adult in serious pain from a tooth that is exposed and infected.

Before you start any treatment on a patient, you need to know their medical history. Is the patient on a blood thinner, or taking digoxin? If you administer an antibiotic, you could increase the dosage that remains in the patient’s body causing a reaction. The patient may have a heart problem that precludes taking epinephrine when you give him anesthetic. If he is taking a blood thinner and you extract a tooth, he is going to bleed profusely. Therefore, a call to the patient’s physician is essential when he is taking prescription drugs.
